How to break an app ui

UI is the saddle, the stirrups, & the reins. UX is the feeling you get being able to ride the horse.

“Design is everywhere. From the dress you’re wearing to the smartphone you’re holding, it’s design.” – Samadara Ginige

What a good UI stand for?

User interface design is hard. With so many options to choose from regarding layout, spacing, typography, and color, making design decisions can be overwhelming.

“If you think good design is expensive, you should look at the cost of bad design.”

— Dr. Ralf Speth

Product Thinking
  • What is the app’s value proposition?
  • What features and user flows are included in the app, and how do they impact the company?
  • Who is the target audience for this feature?
  • Does this feature contribute to user acquisition, retention, or engagement?
  • How does this feature align with the company’s business model?
  • Does the feature encourage users to spend money or time on the app?
Visual Design
  • What are your thoughts on the colors and fonts used in the app?
  • How do the visuals support the brand identity? For instance, does the use of red in Zomato’s design reflect food and hunger?
  • Identify both strengths and weaknesses in the UI. What works well, and what doesn’t?
  • Provide constructive feedback: How do the visuals serve both the user and the business goals?
  • Is there consistency in colors, buttons, illustrations, and text styles throughout the app?
  • Are the buttons, icons, and text legible and accessible? Is the contrast sufficient for readability?
